Description

A pictorial bookplate in black ink on off-white paper. The central feature is a framed roundel with a classical scene of an angel guiding a young boy in writing. Below the roundel, the title "Hamilton College" is prominently displayed. The roundel is encased in a decorative arch with intricate floral and acanthus leaf designs. Cherubic figures and a draped cloth adorn the lower section. The phrase "Ex-Libris" is in a circular emblem, flanked by two putti, at the base. A banner below states, "From the library of Hamilton B. Tompkins of the class of 1865."
