Description
A pictorial bookplate in sepia ink on off-white paper. The design features an illustration of a tall, rectangular tower surrounded by trees. In the foreground, there is a dog lying on the ground near a ribbon banner. The banner reads “Andrew Smith of Whitchester and Cranshaws Esqr.” Above the banner, another ribbon bears the text “Ex Libris” with the year “1897” inscribed on a separate scroll. The artist’s signature, “J.W. Spenceley Sc.,” is located at the bottom right of the image.
