Description
An armorial bookplate in black ink on off-white paper. The design features an ornate coat of arms with intricate detailing. The central shield is divided into three horizontal chevrons decorated with small fleur-de-lis patterns. Surrounding the shield are various symbols, including a lion, a ram, and a floral motif, all framed by an elaborate border with ribbon and foliage accents. The name “Susan E. P. Forbes” is prominently displayed in a banner beneath the shield. The artist’s signature, “J.W. Spenceley Boston 1905,” is located at the bottom center of the bookplate.
