Description
A pictorial bookplate in black ink on light sepia tinted paper. A woman is walking while holding a young child's hand towards a staircase. On the staircase there is another young child sitting and reading a book but they are looking up at the woman. The child holding the woman's hand is holding a lantern. Bordering the illustration on the left, top, and right side is a thin tree. There is one on each side that connect at the top. The ends of the tree trunks have hearts at the bottom. There are also birds sitting on the tree branches. At the top of the illustration under the tree hedge "The stairs of dream that creep unto the secret stars" is written. Towards the bottom of the illustration there is a banner that goes across with "VIVIENNE MACKENZIE WEBB" written in it.
