Description

A pictorial bookplate in black ink on sepia tinted paper. A young lady is sitting in front of a mirror but she is looking at the book that rests open on the dresser. At the top of the illustration "HER BOOK" is written. There is a vase of flowers that is holding the book up. The illustration is framed in a thin, black line in the shape of a rectangle. On the left side of the illustration there is a line with books with wings on it that lead to a young child. The child is sitting criss cross with their hands covering their ears. On the right side the line is connecting to another young child that is standing on a flower. They are also covering their ears with both hands. Following the vine that connects to the flower the child is stepping on, are more books and three heads of children who are reading a book. At the bottom of the illustration in between the side illustrations, "MURIEL ALDERMAN" is written.
