Samantha Strauss was raised among the lakes and white pine forests of Michigan. In first grade she accidentally won third place in a writing contest with a story she copied down from a library book. She was too scared to say anything to anyone, including her parents who still don’t know. She’s since learned what plagiarism is and that it is frowned upon, so now she writes her own stuff. At the University of San Diego, Sam is a senior studying International Relations and Leadership Studies. After graduation, she plans to run away to Alaska to continue working as a river guide.
