Description / Abstract

Analyzing the demographics surrounding the Los Angeles Metro Rail System can present spatial patterns that display the conditions of the communities the Metro Rail serves. Several case studies have concluded that the metro system plays a crucial role in a city’s economic and social development. Metro rail stations show unequal distribution of both racial and median household income demographics. Essential businesses within ¼ mile of metro rail stations also display unequal distribution concerning both race and income.
