Description

The Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies at the University of San Diego was founded in 2007 under President Mary E. Lyons in order to expand the active peacebuilding mission of the Institute for Peace and Justice. With the creation of this school, the study of peace and justice at USD grew from a minor and small masters program run by another academic unit into an undergrad major and later graduate program centering on peace and justice, social innovation, humanitarian action, conflict management and resolution, and restorative justice. Father William R. Headley was selected as the inaugural dean of the school and served from 2007 to 2012, followed by Edward Luck (2012-2013), Patricia Marquez (2014-2024), and Darren Kew (2024-).

This collection is made up of materials such as meeting minutes, agendas, speeches, power points, course planning and lecture notes, correspondence, reference materials, reports, as well as program and school development materials.
