Description

Scrapbook of newspaper clippings titled "Volume I 1956-58." The actual coverage dates of the clippings are 1956-1959. A memo for Volumes I through IV note this scrapbook was created by staff of the Athletic News Bureau to document University of San Diego athletic activities and the early development of USD athletics. In addition to athletics, news clippings in this scrapbook cover topics such as the Capital Campaign for USD, building construction on campus, commencement activities, and Pope Pius XII. Clippings in this scrapbook are not arranged chronologically. Bookmarks have been added to the PDF for direct access to specific dates and publications other than news clippings. While Optical Character Recognition (OCR) has been performed on this PDF, the condition of the scrapbooks limits the reliability. Researchers are not advised to rely on OCR to find articles on specific topics.
