Mechanical Engineering Professor Daniel Codd and students will demonstrate a prototype hybrid solar converter that could provide renewable energy to industrial users and the developing world while dramatically reducing harmful carbon emissions. Supported by a $3.3 million grant from the U.S. Dept. of Energy, the converter generates electricity and steam from concentrated sunlight with high efficiency and low cost.
