San Francisco de Asis, Mission Dolores, California-1776. Is situated on the Bay of San Francisco. The name was bestowed in honor of the founder, who was of the Franciscan Order. When San Francisco passed into the hands of the Americans in 1845, there remained only a remnant of the Old Mission "Dolores."
