Dear May, As I never got “A Garden is a lonesome thing” in French I [illegible] that Mere A.C. never gave you my answer. She is beyond my reach for a scolding now, i.e. if she be still at Menlo. This is a lovely spot from the picturesque point of view and liken all our houses a home of peace and joy. Why Not! He is here. How have you fared this winter? No more. I trust when you are Dear R.M.
