Abstract
The purpose of this study was how to identify and address unconscious gender biases during performance evaluations in Residential Life, at the University of San Diego. My goal was to promote gender equality among our professional staff, myself and Resident Assistants (RAs) in order to improve community development and leadership growth. I found that performance evaluations play a crucial part in the development of our student leaders when given consistent feedback. I addressed and challenged gender stereotypes within performance evaluations, in order to promote gender equality within USD, which allowed our Resident Assistants to be equally recognized for their leadership.
