Abstract
The purpose of my action research was to gain a better understanding of the accessibility and use of undergraduate student wellness services at the University of San Diego. Exploring the current science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) student experience through surveys, interviews, and a support group highlighted areas for improvement. I collaborated with the Wellness Center to strategize how to effectively spread awareness of its program offerings and potentially expand said offerings to include more preventative, early intervention measures. I identified resource gaps preventing more effective and impactful service to students in STEM fields, such as scheduling and other time constraints, perceptions of services, and stigma. My research can enable more STEM students to obtain the support they need in an accessible, expeditious manner.
