Abstract
Bay Park is one of twelve neighborhoods that make up the community of Clairemont. Single-family residences predominate in this area which is bounded by Interstate 5 on the west, Clairemont Drive on the north, Illian Street on the east, and Tecolote Road on the south. A history beginning around 1880, when Bay Park was called Morena, to the present, reveals that interest in this area has centered primarily on the unique location it occupies in San Diego. The location of this area with its delightful, mild weather affords a beautiful view of Mission Bay, the Pacific Ocean, and the mountains. Bay Park provides easy access to downtown San Diego and other suburbs, which attracted the early developers and residents and continues to attract them today.
