This card represents the picture of Our Lady of Guadalupe, of miraculous origin, that was discovered on the "tilma" - a long cloak used by Mexcican Indians - of Juan Diego, an Indian shepherd, to whom Our Lady appeared in 1531, near Mexico City. This copy is over 300 years old; the crown here shown was used only in the very first copies of the original. An artist who made a special study of the pictures of Our Lady of Guadalupe declared that this is one of the best.
