Description

A calligraphic bookplate in black ink on sepia-tinted paper. The design features a central circular medallion with the names “HOWARD IVES McMILLAN” and “MABEL LANGDON” prominently displayed. The top of the bookplate has a small open book with the text “EX LIBRIS.” The border of the bookplate contains the inscriptions: “WHEREON TO LOOKE” at the top, “A JOLLY GOODE BOOKE” on the left, “IS BETTER TO ME” on the right, and “THAN GOLDE” at the bottom. The corners of the border are decorated with floral motifs, and the bottom of the circular medallion features a stylized lamp with flames.
