Description
An armorial bookplate in black ink on sepia-tinted paper. The design features a heraldic shield with a horizontal band and three crescents, each containing a flame. Above the shield is a knight’s helmet topped with a rooster standing on a bundle of sticks. The shield and helmet are surrounded by elaborate acanthus leaf mantling. Below the shield, a banner bears the motto “AUDAX ET VIGILANS” (Bold and Watchful). Beneath this, another banner reads “EX LIBRIS OLIVER CROMWELL WYMAN.” The artist’s initials “O.T.B.” and the year “1911” are inscribed at the bottom of the design.
