Description

A pictorial bookplate in black ink on sepia-tinted paper. The design features a medieval scholar wearing a cap and glasses, engrossed in reading a book amidst a large collection of books in a wooden cabinet. The top of the bookplate reads “EX LIBRIS OSCAR TAYLOR BLACKBURN.” The lower portion of the illustration includes the text “Ship of Fools” and an inscription that reads, “For this is my mynde, this one pleasaure haue I Of bokes to haue grete plentie,” attributed to “A. Barclay 1494.” The artist’s initials “OTB” and the year “1932” are also present in the bottom corners.
