Description
An engraved pictorial bookplate on sepia tinted paper with black ink. There's a forest, valley, and a hill view with a tree that borders the image. Above the image is an arm holding an anchor and surrounded with a calligraphic border. Beneath the nature image are american flags, a calligraphic border that's the shape of a cannon, another anchor, and rope. There's a banner in Latin that says "Cedent Arma Togal" which translates to "Let arms yield to the toga". The name on the bookplate is "John Sanford Barnes".
