Description
A heraldic bookplate in black ink on off-white paper. The design features a decorative shield adorned with crossed arrows at the top and crescent moons in a striped pattern. The shield is framed by ornate floral garlands and ribbons. Below the shield, a banner with the Latin motto “Ferio Tego” is displayed. The name “Eleanor Whitney Watson” is elegantly inscribed in cursive script at the bottom. The artist’s signature, “J.W. Spenceley, 1906,” is located at the lower left of the bookplate.
