Description
A memorial bookplate in black ink on off-white paper. The design features an ornate, rectangular frame with intricate details and ribbon elements. At the top, the text reads “Library of the University of California” within a decorative oval border. Below this, the bookplate reads “In Memoriam Marius J. Spinello 1874-1904 Instructor in Romance Languages in the University of California 1902-4.” At the bottom, a banner with the text “Ex Dono Amicorum” is flanked by palm fronds. The artist’s signature, “J.W. Spenceley, Boston, 1905,” is located at the bottom right of the bookplate.
