Description

A pictorial bookplate in sepia ink on off-white paper. The illustration depicts a Native American man standing beside a canoe on the bank of a river. The man has a bow and a dagger at his waist and is gazing downward. In the background, there are trees and a mountain range. The text “Ex Libris Charles E. Cameron 1897” is inscribed to the right of the figure. Below the illustration, the phrase “Books in the Running Brookes” is written in a curved manner. The artist’s signature, “J.W. Spenceley Del. Sc. 1897,” is located at the bottom left of the image. Additionally, at the lower left corner of the bookplate, there is a small vignette of a beaver beside a stream.
