Caption

Spanish Trawlers at Bantry Bay, Co. Cork, Ireland. Bantry Bay; Co. Cork: The great hill-backed peninsulas of West Cork overlook many fine harbours and bays, of which Bantry Bay is perhaps the most noted. To the West the Slieve Miskish and Caha mountains shelter the bay, and many pleasant resorts dot the shores. The bay was twice entered by French fleets for the invasion of Ireland, first in 1689, and again to aid Wolfe Tone's Rebellion. As a fishing centre the bay is well known, and apart from the holiday angler, the Spanish trawlers add colour to the scene.
