Description, Abstract, or Artist's Statement
AI promises efficiency and productivity, while “slow librarianship” prioritizes intentional work and deep engagement. Are the two contradictory or perhaps complementary? This panel explores the tension between rapid technology and reflective practice. We discuss whether utilizing AI necessarily creates fragmentation, isolation, and cognitive burden, or whether the tools might be leveraged to foster strong relationships with our patrons and colleagues and support a human-centered library culture.
