San Carlos Mission Carmel, California – San Carlos Mission was established in 1771, and is noted as the last residence and burial place of Fra. Junipero Serra, the founder of California's famous Missions. The Church, with its strikingly beautiful bell tower, is in an excellent state of preservation.
