Hoover Library on War, Revolution and Peace, Stanford University, Palo Alto, Calif. At the top of the Hoover Tower is a carillon of thirty-five bells cast by Marcel Michiels in Tournai, Belgium, the gift of Belgian-American Educational Foundation. The Library originated in 1914 in the mind of a man directing the relief of Belgium, the first of many humanitarian enterprises under his leadership. The bells of this carillon are dedicated to peace, the cause to which this Library and Institute are devoted through: The collection and preservation of historical materials; Research in these materials; Publication of the results of research; Instruction in the problems of peace;
