Nimes. – Les Arènes. – Arceau du 1er étage. Ces arceaux très remarquables s'ouvrent sur un promenoir qui était protégé, entre chaque arceau, par une sorte d'appui de balcons, sur lepuel était sculpté l'un des jeux ou des combats en usage à l'époque romaine. On peut voir encore, sur l'un de ces garde-fous, un combat de gladioteurs, mais la plupart ont disparu. L'emplacement de la chapelle St. martin se voit en face le Palais de Justice.
