San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, Calif. Opened in 1936, this gigantic double-deck bridge in 8 1/4 miles long. Costing more than 77 millions, the upper deck carries six lanes of private autos and the lower deck trucks, busses and interurban trains.
