Caption

California Redwoods - Once widespread over the northern hemisphere the giant redwoods, Sequoia Sempervirens, now only survive in a coastal belt reaching from southwest Oregon to Big Sur, south of Monterey. They grow in dense forests with a lush undergrowth of ferns, bracken and, in season, a profusion of wild flowers.
