Grotto of Lourdes at Spring Hill College. Spring Hill college is a Roman Catholic institution, founded by the Jesuits in 1830. It is surrounded by extensive grounds and beautiful, picturesque woods; in the centre of a large pine forest is the Grotto of Lourdes, a statue of "Our Lady of Lourdes" set in an irregular cut stone cave. (Lourdes is a town in France, famous for the grotto in the rocks where miracles were reported to have been performed.)
