Hopi Indian Pueblo. Oraibi, Arizona. Hopi land is in north western Arizona-and Oraibi is one of the principle villages containing a population of about 1200 Indians. The houses are built on the style of many other pueblos consisting of community terraced houses made into hundreds of rooms. The houses are sometimes six and seven stories, each terrace being built well back of the one below. The roof of the rooms below answering for the front yard of the one immediately above. They form a picturesque sight resembling a giant stairway.
