Abstract
The purpose of my study is to find new techniques to cultivate the value of studying abroad among engineering students at the University of California, San Diego (UC San Diego). Data was gathered through online surveys and interviews with engineering students. My study will improve current techniques used to increase participation in study abroad programs with engineering students as well as bring awareness as to why participation numbers are low. My goal is to present studying abroad as an opportunity to learn about new cultures since it can hold a great value to an individual's personal and professional development. It is also an opportunity for undergraduate students to be exposed to a new culture. The research question I will be addressing is: As a higher education administrator, how can I increase participation and promote the value in study abroad programs at UC San Diego among engineering students?
