Abstract
Bureaucracies tend to dehumanize individuals and wreak havoc on their social well-being. Bureaucracy is never going away, and many organizations will become more bureaucratic as the world population grows and becomes more interconnected. This exploratory qualitative research based on personal narrative examines the negative social consequences that bureaucracy imposes on people, and how these consequences can be mitigated through the use of servant leadership. This research is not an attempt to abolish bureaucracy, it is an attempt to enrich the lives of individuals and create a just and caring organization by putting social needs before profits. This paper is guided by my moral obligation as a leader to take special care of the people in the organizations and communities that I am a part of.
