These colorful linen postcards were collected and maintained by the San Diego College for Women. They came from a variety of sources especially from individuals affiliated with the Society of the Sacred Heart, the religious order who established and administered the college. Produced between 1930 and the 1950s, the high rag content papers used to create these postcards give them their distinctive fabric-like appearance. Depictions of cityscapes and landscapes predominate, providing viewers with a vibrant snapshot of times gone by.
